Dana Corporation is seeking to fill the position of Stampings Buyer for the Commercial Vehicle Group.
Responsibilities:
oExecute year over year cost reductions using traditional and nontraditional methods
oSupport all product group plants in North America in matrix organization
oInsure supplier performance in PPM and Delivery meeting SCMG objectives
oDrive compliance to SCMG processes and system
o Prepare presentations that follow a logically reasoned, data supported approach, allowing executives to understand detailed analyses in the context of an overarching business case.
o Achieves annual cost reduction objectives, including full implementation of supplier contracts.
o Negotiates supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers cost, delivery, quality, order lead time, payment cycles, technology, and / or risk mitigation.
o Coordinates supplier selection and leads supplier transitions.
o Monitors compliance with supplier contractual requirements.
oInitiates renegotiation efforts well in advance of contract expiration, and monitors industry trends to anticipate opportune timing to lock in contracting advantages.
o source both raw material and component commodities and manage a total spend of $50M - $100M.
o Formulate annual business plans for cost reduction and year over year? performance improvement.
o Executes Category strategy in North America.
Education
o Must have a BS Engineering, Supply Chain, or related degree with a preference for a technical degree. MBA a plus.
Other Requirements:
o Minimum 3-5 years working in procurement.
o Must have worked in a heavy or commercial vehicle manufacturing environment with experience in purchasing castings, steel or for Assembly.
o Must be able to read and understand design prints/ drawings and work with engineering on engineering changes/ deviations.
o Achieves annual cost reduction objectives, including full implementation of supplier contracts.
o Good problem solving skills, including ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges.
o Must demonstrate a strong business acumen including knowledge of manufacturing, finance, marketing, and quality to be able to understand the impact of sourcing decisions on the overall business success.
o Should have the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Good interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner
o Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
o Familiarity with Procurement and Quality Supplier Metrics with flow-down to supplier contracts and performance reviews.
o Strong computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software.
o Willing to travel occasionally and periodically work non-traditional business hours.
