Business Analyst
Provide leadership in Business Intelligence for ThermaTru. This includes defining the BI strategy for the company and selecting the next generation BI toolsets to be used. The role will require business and technical knowledge to identify (with the business) opportunities, plan, develop, deliver, and manage business reporting requirements using tools such as Cognos and QlikView. The role will also be responsible for BI tool version management; and plan/execute upgrades to ensure versions are current and in support. This role will have high visibility in the business from middle to senior level management.
Strategy & Planning
Manage design and implementation of business reporting solutions, ensuring proper controls are designed for self sustaining data integrity.
Design reporting solutions that are linked to the appropriate 'source of truth'.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated with managing BI systems.
Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the IT Management Team.
Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products,
services
, protocols, and standards.
Establish service level agreements with business units.
Design & Development
Create and maintain documentation that describes our BI solutions, including end user documentation.
Train power users to develop reports, understand data, and use the tools. The focus is user
community
self sufficiency versus dependency.
Create self sustaining and self monitoring daily production schedules. Proactively communicate to business when issues arise.
Scope
The role will work with the
executive
management team, 3 business units, finance, hr, and operations.
The role will have strong linkage across IT with the Data team, ERP team, Infrastructure team, and DBA's.
The role will have front office (business facing) and back office (IT technical) dimensions
May perform other duties as assigned
A successful BI analyst will have:
A bachelor's degree in Information Systems
7-10 years experience in business intelligence
Hands on experience in architecture, design, and development of scaleable BI reporting solutions.
Familiarity with SQL and Oracle databases, IBM Cognos, Crystal, Qlikview, and MS Office suite.
Have worked with Oracle Warehouse Builder.
Must have experience with BI technologies, preferably from Microsoft & Oracle
Oracle OBIEE experience is a plus.
