Christian Career Fit Christian Career Fit Maumee, OH Maumee, OH Full-time Full-time $23 an hour $23 an hour Business Administrator - Maumee United Methodist Church Business Manager Maumee United Methodist Church Job Description Position Objective The Business Manager position is one that oversees the financial and business ministries of Maumee United Methodist Church.
This person will primarily oversee both the income and payables, financial reporting and auditing, and other duties that are related to the business of MUMC.
Overall objectives include connecting with and building relationships with other staff members and volunteers; developing and implementing a vision for MUMC to effectively manage the finances and encourage generous givers; and give leadership to the trustees, finance, endowment, and other related teams.
Responsibilities Establish and maintain appropriate accounting controls and procedures in cooperation with the Finance Committee.
Coordinate teams of volunteer counters.
Record and deposit donations after they are counted by volunteer counters and produce quarterly contribution statements.
Pay the church's payroll and bills; and reconcile bank statements.
Establish and maintain payroll policies and records, such as payroll taxes, paid time off, workers comp, etc.
Coordinate with the lead pastor the annual budget process.
Be the point person on insurance and business needs for the church and parsonage.
Generate reports including those for the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, Trustees, and Staff Report to the lead Pastor in day-to-day operations.
Report to lead Pastor and Finance Committee in overall job performance and responsibilities.
Assist the lead Pastor in other related responsibilities.
Attend staff meetings.
Attend Finance committee, Trustees and Leadership Team meetings.
Coordinate the financial stewardship campaign in partnership with the lead team (staff).
Coordinate information for any Capital Campaigns.
Keep accurate track of all financial accounts and funds including the money coming in and going out.
Essential Competencies Knowledge and Skills in Using Current Technology for Financial Management and Business Applications This person must be able to incorporate current technology to manage the financial ministries that support the church's mission, vision, and values both within the church and to our community.
The preference is for this person to have a knowledge and competency in QuickBooks, and to have experience in non-profit accounting.
It would be helpful to be able to work with Microsoft Office products and be able to learn to use Servant Keeper Church Management Software.
Resources This person must have the knowledge of, or the capacity to learn of the resources available to effectively grow generous givers and manage the business operations of MUMC Relational Capacity Approachable spirit and personality that facilitates effective and cordial relationships with all generations, but specifically those in this ministry; able to rally people together to achieve goals and objectives; affirms the accomplishments and enriches emotional well-being of others; conducts oneself with full integrity, honesty, maturity and confidentiality; pursues resolution to conflicts.
Written and Verbal Communication Effectively conveys and promotes information to members of the congregation; clearly articulates ministry objectives; creatively promotes ministry opportunities in growing generosity and management of financial resources; receives and offers feedback to ministry leaders and church leadership.
At the same time, this person must be able to be trusted with very confidential information that cannot be shared.

Reports to Lead Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee, and would work directly with the Finance, Trustees, and Endowment committees.
Time Commitment - Work approximately 20 hours per week.
Although the hours are flexible, most of those hours would be during weekday office hours.
($24,000 or $23/hour).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
